X-Gen for fifth successive year - stricter selection criteria for 2003
certifies optimal business process integration for international finance
Frankfurt, 15 May 2003: For a record fifth successive year, CSK Software AG
has received the highest award in the finance industry for integration
solutions: the SWIFTReady Financial EAI Gold Label for its X-Gen Enterprise
Application Integration (EAI) product suite.
This certification from the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial
Telecommunications (SWIFT) confirms that the CSK solution offers the ideal
functionality to enable financial services companies to integrate their IT
systems and connect to the business processes of international financial
SWIFT is an industry-owned co-operative, supplying messaging services and
interface software to over 7,000 financial institutions globally. By means
of the "SWIFTReady Financial EAI label", awarded annually, the organisation
wishes to provide its members with a quality 'kitemark' for selecting
"We have worked closely with CSK Software for many years now and appreciate
the company's willingness and ability to deliver SWIFT- ready solutions to
our clients quickly," said Olivier Roucloux, lead market analyst at SWIFT.
"We are therefore delighted to award the SWIFT-Ready Financial EAI Gold
label 2003 to the X-Gen product suite and are looking forward to another
year of successful co-operation."
The criteria for the award of the Gold Label were once again made more
stringent this year. Previously, an EAI software solution needed to be able
to validate and process the syntax of a SWIFT message. These rules define,
for example, the way a date or bank reference number is to be presented.
This year, validation and processing of SWIFT message semantic rules was
also checked, involving for example the meaning of a date or bank reference
number within a message. Each country has its own rules for the
semantically correct presentation of a transaction - the so-called
Securities Market Practice Rules.
The CSK solution checks the semantic correctness of a SWIFT message, via
testing routines with clear semantic definitions which are an integral part
of X-Gen. The syntax of the message is separately tested. This separation
enables the semantic definitions to be utilised in any syntax form and are
re-usable and/or generic.
X-Gen is extremely flexible and can easily be adapted for new market
requirements. New Market Practice Rules, for example, are easily defined in
a graphical user interface, without having to consider syntax rules.
"We really worked hard to earn the Gold Label for 2003 as early as
possible, as it has become a decisive selection criterion and quality
standard in the market," says Johannes Untiedt, CEO of CSK Software AG. "We
are therefore very proud to be one of the very first EAI providers to have
succeeded this year."
