Today, Sterling Management Solutions Corp. won the business plan competition and was the sole presenter at the New York City Venture Economy Forum at the Harvard Club in New York City, hosted by New York eComm and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and sponsored by Wilson, Sonsini, NYTimes Digital and Microsoft. Panelists included Bob Fish, Managing Partner, Venture Capital Practice, PricewaterhouseCoopers; Arie Abecassis, Director, Thomson Ventures; Jason Devitt, CEO, Vindigo; Chip Hazard, Managing General Partner, IDG Ventures; Stephen Murray, General Partner, JPMorganPartners; Gaurav Rewari, CEO, firstRain; and Chris Sugden, Principal, Edison Venture Fund.

Recent financing events in the business intelligence sector have included the IPO filing last week by Crystal Decisions (a major BI tool vendor) and the funding of Beacon Hill Group, a BI analytics company.
