System Access wins first multi-million banking contract in Tunisia

Singapore, Dubai, Geneva, for immediate release – System Access today announced that Amen Bank has selected the SYMBOLS banking software suite to run its entire banking operations. Amen Bank is Tunisia’s first 100% Tunisian privately owned bank with a network of 79 branches across Tunisia. As a key financial institution, Amen Bank has consistently maintained its leadership role within the Tunisia’s banking scene.

The Bank’s requirement for a state-of-the-art core banking system was central to its strategy in demonstrating its leadership in the Tunisia
banking community. SYMBOLS was chosen for its robust hardware independent technology infrastructure, scalability, reliability, as well as its successful proven record in the Middle East and Africa region.

"SYMBOLS will give our Bank the ability to reap the benefits of centralised banking in terms of increased customer service levels as well as much lower transaction costs. The professional services experience of System Access’ local partner, Steria, was also a major factor in our decision", said Mr. Ahmed El Karm, Vice Chairman General Manager, Amen Bank.

System Access will provide the full range of its SYMBOLS applications from customer delivery, through CRM to core processing of deposits, loans, trade finance and treasury. Steria will work collaboratively with Amen Bank and System Access Client Services to deliver the consulting work, implementation, customisation services, support and training. Steria are also responsible for delivering another first for this project, the use of French in SYMBOLS as the primary language for users of the System. "Our experience in the deployment of banking systems in France and abroad and the professionalism of our own and Amen Bank's teams will be the key factors in our success," explains Denis Blitman, banking sector CEO for Steria in France

"Being the first large, global banking system to be selected in Tunisia, this project is a significant win for System Access. It sets a new reference point for the Tunisia banking sector for legacy system replacement," said Mr. Olivier Trancart, CEO, System Access.

"The initiative is timely and we have the advantage of being the first independent banking software company to roll out a large-scale banking project in Tunisia. Together with Steria, we are confident that SYMBOLS will play an integral part to the bank's success in creating a difference for its customers" commented Phil Blower, MD, Middle East and Africa, System Access

Using SYMBOLS, Amen Bank will benefit from a fully real-time, customer-centric solution. In addition to gaining an integrated processing infrastructure, designed to significantly lower operations and technology costs, Amen Bank will have the flexibility to scale according to the bank's business objectives, giving the room to fine-tune and expand its products and services through various mulit-delivery channels.
