FPL Association Engages Peter Randall as Executive Director

June 10, 2003 - The FIX Protocol Ltd. (FPL) has selected Mr. Peter Randall of Peter Randall & Associates to serve as the organization’s first Executive Director. After an extensive review process, yielding several qualified candidates, the Executive Director Selection Committee felt Mr. Randall possessed the best combination of depth of industry experience with a proven ability to successfully drive firms within the financial services industry around the world.

Mr. Randall has offered strategic consulting services through his consultancy, Peter Randall & Associates since October 1997. At multinational broker dealers, Peter has led ventures from concept through production and served in various general management capacities. Prior to establishing his consultancy, Peter was with Instinet International, where he served first as the Chief Executive Officer of Instinet Pacific Ltd., Instinet Hong Kong Ltd. and Instinet Japan Ltd. in Hong Kong and also as Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Japanese and Asian Product, in London.

As Executive Director, Peter will be based in London and report to the Global Steering Committee which is the governing body of FPL and includes leadership of all the Regional, Service and Product Committees. The role was created as part of the restructuring effort begun last October. According to Maria Domnick, European Co-Chair, “With the organization nearly doubling in size as a result of the restructuring, it is essential we have dedicated resources to effectively manage FPL Association. Peter will essentially act in a Chief Operating Officer capacity to serve the needs of the membership while efficiently managing the daily operations of the organization itself.”

Peter acknowledged the importance of the role and expressed his enthusiasm to take FPL to its next level stating, “FIX has been one of the great success stories of our industry. I look forward to working with established and potential members to harness our collective skills to address connectivity issues and move the protocol forward. ”
