On February 7, 2003, the Talenthedge online shop will open. The first hedge fund rating report will be available for purchase. A partial report demo, also available online, will show the fund's rating profile.
The first fund to have submitted data for a rating is domiciled in Dublin and the fund's managers can be contacted in Paris and Dublin. The fund received a Talenthedge four star rating.
The Talenthedge hedge fund ratings and hedge fund indices are based on a 90-question proprietary hedge fund questionnaire, which is also published online.
The five rating categories of the questionnaire are:
- Cash-flow (performance-related)
- Communication (transparency)
- Computation (trading method)
- Capacity (investment capacity)
- Commerce (management)
(The "5 C's")
Each question of the rating questionnaire must be answered by the fund with a simple yes or no. The graphic representation of the 90 answers, the "rating matrix," provides a quick visual scan of important qualitative information.
The Talenthedge hedge fund rating reports can be selected by clients through the fund's online profile, published at the Talenthedge shop. However, the fund's name and contact information -and the rating user license- is only available as part of the complete report.
Only hedge funds with offices in one of twelve global financial centers will be rated: London, New York, Chicago, Dublin, Paris, Munich, Tokyo, Geneva, Milan, Madrid, Sydney, Stockholm. Overall, funds must meet ten minimum selection criteria.
The estimated start of the Talenthedge hedge fund indices is now set for March / April 2003.
