Simon Pritchard, senior product manager for trading systems at Syntegra to
present 'Realising the Virtual Trading Organisation - deploying technology for cost and business benefit'
London, 29 April, 2003 - Syntegra today announced it will show its new
integrated voice recognition functionality for the first time in the UK at
Dealing with Technology (DWT) 2003 London (stand # 3). DWT - the global
trading and risk management forum - will take place at The Brewery, Chiswell
Street on Wednesday 30 April. At the show, Simon Pritchard, senior product
manager for trading systems at Syntegra will give a vendor presentation,
entitled 'Realising the Virtual Trading Organisation - deploying technology
for cost and business benefit,' at 10:50 in the Upper Sugar Room. Syntegra
will be exhibiting and presenting alongside colleagues from across BT Group,
illustrating the key role a network-centric approach to system design plays
in achieving effective business continuity.
Voice recognition is the latest technology development Syntegra is capitalising on through ITS Myriad - its collaborative trading platform - to ensure greater efficiency in today's trading environment. Syntegra has been working closely on this with Vox Generation, a leading provider of spoken language business solutions. By integrating Vox Trader with Syntegra's proven ITS Myriad technology, the feedback from a spoken instruction is visible and immediate. Trades can be entered, CRM systems updated, contacts dialled, emails sent and screens manipulated - all by spoken commands. Using Wireless ITS Myriad, people on the move can access and input information through voice-enabled PDAs and mobile phones. The emphasis is on speed, simplicity, accuracy and an enhanced user experience.
Simon Pritchard's presentation will follow BT's presentation on evolving virtual private networks. It will illustrate how Syntegra can take advantage of developments in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) to implement the virtual trading organisation for finance customers, bringing considerable benefits in areas such as business continuity.
ITS Myriad and its wireless counterpart, Wireless ITS Myriad - which are designed to link clients, colleagues and trading partners, allowing them to communicate using any channel and any resources, irrespective of where they are based - will be on display at DWT. Syntegra's latest IP-enabled ITS pV405Hi and pV105Hi turrets will also be on show.
Speaking about Syntegra's presence at DWT, Rod MacDonald, managing director of trading systems at Syntegra, said, "We are looking forward to demonstrating our speech-driven collaborative trading environment to the senior trading and IT professionals gathered at DWT. The integration of conversational speech demonstrates how we are continuing to use our extensive systems integration experience to take advantage of new technologies, where appropriate. With the recent expansion of our European sales force, we are poised to take full advantage of market opportunities."
MacDonald continued: "The finance industry is one of BT's largest markets for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and over the years it has built up a position of great trust with its customers. In Syntegra, BT Group has one of the UK's leading consulting and systems integration businesses, with a substantial track record in the trading room. With colleagues from across the group we look forward to demonstrating the full extent of BT's capability at the show."
