DZ Bank is the sixth largest bank in Germany and has now committed to use MINT as its strategic SWIFTNet FIN and FileAct platform, to manage the migration from SWIFTâs X.25 network and to support the new FIN services on the SWIFTNet IP network. This means that MINT will replace DZ Bankâs existing SWIFTsystem, and will process centrally all DZ Bank Group traffic, which averages between 30,000 and 50,000 SWIFT messages per day.
Michael Steinbach, director, head of payments division at DZ Bank, commented, "We have chosen the MINT SWIFTNet solution because it provides a fully available and consolidated approach to all existing and future SWIFTNet Application Services such as FIN, InterAct, FileAct, EBA Step2, FIX, CLS, EuroClear, Clearstream, Crest, etc. as part of an integrated platform. By choosing to work with trusted expertise from SunGard, we now have the confidence to effect a transparent migration from our existing infrastructure."
Danny Barsella, president and chief executive officer at SunGard Business Integration, commented, "We are delighted that DZ Bank has selected MINT technology to replace its existing mainframe infrastructure as its future SWIFTNet architecture. Our âconsolidated operationsâ approach extends the SWIFTNet single window paradigm into the internal operations environment, providing a consolidated âsingle viewâ of network operations."
Mr. Barsella continued, "Many institutions facing the mandatory SWIFTNet migration by 2004 now realize that preparing to support future SWIFTNet services is by no means a painless exercise. By adopting a MINT SWIFT solution as part of their SWIFTNet migration plans, organizations can reap significant economies of scope and scale, drive increased business flexibility and secure their future information agility. The benefits for our clients include enhanced management control and improved business efficiency with less cost and effort. We certainly look forward to working with DZ Bank."
