NEW YORK (October 16, 2002) - FAME Information Services Inc., the leading provider of data management and decision-support solutions for trading and risk management, today reaffirmed its commitment to the distribution of superior energy market data and related analytical solutions. With recent announcements such as energySCOPE 5.0, which provides access and analysis of energy data from more than 50 vendors worldwide, the news that Ernst and Young awarded its cyber certification for FAME's advanced daily data quality services, and the announcement of version 7 of PAWS, the energy industry's leading analytical desktop analysis solution, FAME remains the undisputed leader in energy market data.
"FAME's commitment to the energy market is unrivaled," said Neil Edelstein, FAME's senior vice president of global sales, marketing, product and account management. "Even in these challenging economic times, we've stepped up our development efforts to ensure FAME's delivery of the best quality data and most user-friendly analytics to our customers."
FAME's suite of energy solutions include:
FAME's Java-based desktop graphical and analytical solution, energySCOPE, allows rapid access to and detailed analysis of energy data from more than 50 vendors worldwide. With energySCOPE 5.0, users can aggregate hourly and half-hourly data for the custom generation of blocks or partial-day analysis, calculate best-fit trendlines for a series or add custom trendlines by drag-and-drop on the chart, or draw forward curves for futures and other forward-trading instruments. Increased technical studies allow users to display multiple moving averages, rate-of-change oscillators and stochastics. The formulas module allows for unique customization of time series, plus the ability to define individual functors for a user's own special calculations.
The latest release of FAME's data warehousing solution, EnergyServer, is automating most of the database administrator functions. Its enhanced programmatic interfaces allow for simpler integration with external systems, such as risk and accounting software packages. EnergyServer includes new add-on components energyREPORTER and DataExtractor, which allow for instant feeds to downstream systems. New vendors and data sets are consistently being added, with coal, ISO, and European Exchanges due out in the coming months.
The release of PAWS version 7 marks the first significant functional enhancements to the industry-leading analytical tool since 1999. With an updated look and feel, users now have complete control over the way their charts and reports look. Futures analysis has been increased with the addition of strips, Plimsoll and candle charts, and trend lines and notes can be added to charts with a click of the mouse. In addition, PAWS Tool improvements mean more efficient database maintenance and customer support.
