NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. â Oct. 1, 2002 â AccuSoft Corporation, the leading provider of imaging technology and Internet-based document portal solutions, announced today comprehensive new releases of its enormously popular ImageGear imaging toolkit â ImageGear Professional Edition, for professional software developers and product OEMs, and ImageGear Enterprise Edition for corporate developers, solutions integrators and enterprise service providers.
Available for each of the major system platforms (Windows, Macintosh and Unix), the ImageGear Professional Editions replace all prior versions of ImageGear and come standard with built-in support for all popular imaging options (PDF, JPEG2000, OCR, CAD, Barcode, etc.). In addition to offering comprehensive support for the native system environments (Windows DLL, ActiveX and .NET, Mac OS 9 and OS X, Linux, Solaris, HP/UX and AIX), each ImageGear Professional Edition also comes standard with comprehensive Java support built in.
ImageGear Enterprise Edition includes all of the functionality and components of the ImageGear Professional Editions, with combined support for all platforms, and adds comprehensive facilities for building enterprise-class, client/server and Web-based imaging and document delivery solutions with the NetVue toolkit module. The NetVue toolkit incorporates AccuSoft's patented Network Document Streaming (NDS) technology, which allows users to access and view documents over the Web up to 20 times faster than the closest alternative. Using ImageGear Enterprise Edition, developers can create and deploy client/server applications that support high-speed Web-based delivery and viewing of documents and images, enabling companies to create powerful, self-service, image-enabled internet applications with far less effort than ever before possible.
Another prime example of AccuSoft's emphasis on facilitating rapid, reliable application development is in its new ScanDex control for building scalable, high-speed enterprise-class batch scanning and indexing solutions. Based on proven technology in use by tens of thousands of users worldwide, ScanDex can help developers rapidly prototype and deliver solutions to automatically capture, recognize, organize and introduce thousands of documents into repositories, simply, reliably and quickly. The ScanDex functionality is available in both the Professional and the Enterprise editions.
Both editions also offer full .NET compatibility, ensuring developers can use both ActiveX and DLL in .NET compiled applications, thus positioning the award-winning AccuSoft product for ASP .NET server-side applications, one of the fastest-growing areas of the application development market. Building on nearly 20 years of imaging expertise, the new ImageGear editions now offer over 700 imaging functions (including ICC, EXIF, IPTC, etc.), more than 200 control parameters, and support for over 100 different file formats. As a result of ImageGear's proven algorithms and higher-level tools, developers can dramatically reduce the time to prototype and deliver working solutions, providing them with a faster time-to-market advantage and permitting them to concentrate their best efforts on solving business problems and not on managing changes in technology.
"With the new ImageGear editions, we have streamlined our packaging options so that developers can buy one product at a competitive price and get all the options, customer service, licensing rights, and the platform support they need to create and deploy the most reliable imaging and image-enabled applications possible," said Peter Quirk, Vice President of Technology, AccuSoft Corporation. "Our ImageGear technology is already in use by more than 50 million people every day to view images because developers create more applications with it than any other technology. And, with these new releases, developers can now develop rich, client/server applications for the Web that enable organizations to empower their customers to get the documents and images they need, when they need them."
All of the new offerings include extensive, customer-focused support, as well as new, extremely flexible and application-friendly licensing options for both resale and enterprise-wide deployments of multiple applications on multiple platforms. Additionally, as always, all are protected by the AccuSoft Image Guarantee, and backed by AccuSoft's exhaustive library of real-world images, so developers can rest assured that their users will not encounter problems viewing images from any applications built with ImageGear technology.
The flexible, new application-friendly licensing approach allows OEMs, System Integrators, ISVs, and ASPs developing imaging and image-enabled applications using ImageGear Professional Edition to develop and resell multiple applications without requiring additional toolkit licenses. ImageGear Enterprise Edition extends this to include multiple applications across multiple platforms, without additional toolkit licenses. AccuSoft's new licensing gives developers substantially greater flexibility to meet the ever-changing requirements of customers today while still protecting their products and intellectual property from infringement.
The new, customer-centric support plans provide ImageGear developers with a comprehensive range of software support and maintenance services throughout the product lifecycle, from evaluation to development through deployment and beyond. The new services include 24x7 online access to:
