Washington, DC – January 30, 2002 – Matrix NetSystems, Inc. announced today that its Matrix Insight product has received the COMNET 2002 New Product Achievement Award for "Best New Network and Systems Infrastructure Product".
"Receiving such high caliber recognition from industry insiders is a great testament to the product’s significance," said William Palumbo, CEO of Matrix NetSystems. "Matrix Insight brings Matrix NetSystems’ Internet performance expertise to the enterprise – for the first time allowing businesses to exercise control over their Internet traffic even after it leaves their networks."
Matrix Insight has two components: Insight Surveyor and Insight Reporter. Surveyor provides an in-depth audit including client analysis and path assessment; edge server optimization; recommended ISP selection; and software discovery assessment. Reporter collects network performance metrics on a real-time basis and provides ongoing, 24 x 7, network and performance monitoring.
"Network traffic has become far too critical to business success for enterprises to continue to rely on the best efforts of their ISP," said Zeus Kerravala, Research Director at the Yankee Group. "Matrix NetSystems' Insight strengthens the enterprise's position, allowing it to manage and improve performance beyond its own firewall and to select ISPs on the basis of measurable performance rather than cost alone."
COMNET New Product Achievement Award winners were selected by an independent panel of judges, including leading members of the trade and business press, industry research firms and academia. The judges evaluated all entries prior to the show and selected three finalists per category for a total of 24 finalists. Judges then reviewed the 24 finalists and voted on one winner per category. Entries were evaluated on the basis of innovation, industry contribution, integration with current product lines, migration capabilities, support provided and return on investment.
