REUTERS APPOINTS DIRECTOR OF EQUITY ALLIANCES

London - Reuters, the global information, news and technology group, has appointed Stephen Wilson as Director, Equity Alliances for the Investment Banking and Brokerage customer segment. The appointment will support Reuters growth initiatives in the Investment Banking and Brokerage sector and provide focus on the key order management and trade execution areas in particular.

Stephen (42) brings a track record of innovation in the financial markets having been a co-founder and director of Tradepoint, a cross border electronic stock exchange. At Tradepoint, Stephen formulated and led negotiations to implement the first order routing and trading service by an exchange with a leading financial data provider and developed and negotiated proposals which led to Tradepoint becoming the first and only non-US equity exchange to be granted approval to operate in the US.

He subsequently joined virt-x, a joint venture between Tradepoint, the SWX Swiss Exchange and a consortium of global investment banks, which focuses on cross border equity trading in Europe as a director of Business Development.

Stephen will be based in London and report to Harry Temkin, Managing Director of Equities Product Development for Reuters Investment Banking and Brokerage segment.
