Prudential is First to Use ADP’s New FundMaker Product

New York, New York – July 31, 2002 -- ADP Investor Communication Services (ADP ICS), a division of Automatic Data Processing (NYSE: ADP), announced today its new Internet-based mutual fund fact sheet tool, FundMaker™. The unique service, which creates mutual fund fact sheets efficiently in days instead of weeks, is already operational at Prudential Financial.

FundMaker is the only product of its kind in today’s market. Using the power of the Internet, it allows fund managers to build fact sheets online from any location at any time, in real-time. Advanced content management features include automatic data population from accounting systems or third party providers, and online text editing. The real-time creation of fund sheets will allow for rapid changes or corrections. FundMaker produces and distributes the final product in a fraction of the time that traditional methods require, putting fund sheets in the hands of brokers faster so they can service their clients better.

FundMaker was developed by ADP’s Baltimore-based Argus Group, a national provider of on-demand communications for the financial services and health care industries acquired earlier this year. The Argus Group unifies documents in an Internet-based, intelligent content management system allowing clients to view, modify, and select the material from electronic libraries for on-demand printing and fulfillment. Many of the largest 401(k) providers rely on Argus to provide their clients with customized literature.

"Financial managers are under increased pressure to speed information to market before their competitors, and FundMaker will help them achieve a faster development and production process," says Gerard Scavelli, senior vice president, ADP Investor Communication Services. "ADP is positioning itself as a business partner not just in production, but also in advanced document management with products like FundMaker, dynamic statement reengineering services and highly personalized print-on-demand solutions," continues Scavelli.
"We chose FundMaker when we realized how much more efficiently it would enable us to create and distribute our mutual fund fact sheets," says Prudential vice president Richard Ridings. Prudential also relies on ADP for financial printing services, electronic document delivery, proxy processing and regulatory report mailings.
