A delegation of Finnish high tech executives visited Atlanta last week with the goal of finding U.S. strategic partners for sales and development operations here by early 2003.

Their visit is an initiative of Global Software, a program of Oulu University in Oulu, Finland, that brings Finnish firms in the wireless software applications and information technology software industries to the U.S. for targeted networking seminars, said Juhani Saukkonen, program director.

"The companies are all from the four major high tech centers in Finland, including Helsinki and Oulu, and each were chosen to participate in the program by venture capitalists in Finland," Mr. Saukkonen told GlobalFax during an interview, Aug. 5, at the Georgia Center for Advanced Telecommunications Technology.

The group has an established relationship with Atlanta-based consultant, Owen Greeson, who was in charge of setting up meetings for the companies and seminar programs in the city.
