Man Capital LLC has selected Financial Software Systemsâ Spectrum Foreign Exchange System to manage its foreign exchange and FX margin trading businesses.Man Capital will initially utilize Spectrum in its London, New York, and Chicago offices.
Man Capital is a unit of the Man Group PLC, which trades on the London Stock Exchange.The Man Group is a focused financial services group, comprising a specialist fund manager and an international broker employing approximately 1,600 staff in 11 countries around the world.The Group's brokerage division is one of the world's major futures and options brokers, providing a variety of financial services -- including FX trading and margin trading -- to banks, CTAs, corporations, and private clients.
Spectrum is a comprehensive risk management system that covers a wide variety of foreign exchange and interest rate products. Spectrum provides straight-through processing, from front-office deal capture to generating general ledger accounting entries in the back-office.Man Capital has licensed Spectrum to manage its trading activities in FX spot & forward contracts, OTC FX options, and FX futures.Spectrum will provide Man Capital with P&L calculations, management of clients' collateral, calculation of clients' margin positions and margin calls, and monitoring of counterparty limits. Spectrum provides real-time margin calculations based upon changes in clients' positions, changes in clients' collateral, and changes in market revaluation rates (for positions and for collateral).
Spectrumâs calculation engines have demonstrated in production environments the ability to process over 10,000 transactions a day in a 24-hour trading environment across multiple financial centers.
Spectrum will be installed at Man Capital on a Windows 2000 platform utilizing Microsoft's SQL 2000 database server. Financial Software Systems also offers Spectrum on a UNIX platform and the Sybase Database Server.
Financial Software Systems is headquartered in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, with sales and support offices in London and Singapore. Financial Software Systems produces foreign exchange and interest rate risk management software for banks, fund managers, and corporations.Financial Software Systems recently collaborated with Cognotec Limited to integrate Spectrum with Cognotec's AutoDeal Lite Internet FX trading system.
