London, September 25 2001 - EO plc, the UK-based pan-European distribution platform for newly issued debt and equity securities, announces the appointment of Mr. Ronald Freeman to the role of non-executive Chairman of its board of directors. Mr. Freeman has served on the board of EO plc as a non-executive director since November 2000.

Ron Freeman is currently chief executive officer of Lipper & Company International Ltd, an IMRO/FSA regulated company and European subsidiary of Lipper & Company, a U.S.-based funds manager. He was previously Vice Chairman of Schroder Salomon Smith Barney (SSSB) Europe. During his 21 year career at SSSB, Ron held a broad range of senior positions in New York and London, including Co-Chief Executive of SSSB's European activities.

Mike Whitaker, current Chairman and a co-founder of EO plc, will continue to work closely with the company in his role as CEO of NewMedia SPARK, EO's largest shareholder.
