SolutionForge Partners With Microsoft...

· SolutionForge’s FIX product suite, FIX.NET, will run on Microsoft’s .NET
technology
· Financial institutions will benefit from faster and more cost-effective
STP

19 June 2001 – New York – At the SIA Technology Management Conference and
Exhibit, SolutionForge, the UK based provider of financial Straight-Through
Processing solutions, today announced that it has partnered with Microsoft
Corporation to enable financial institutions to benefit from lower cost,
more efficient Straight-Through Processing (STP).

Under the agreement, SolutionForge’s FIX product suite, FIX.NET, will run on
Microsoft’s .NET platform. FIX.NET allows financial transaction data to be
transferred from the Microsoft platform using the Financial Information
Exchange protocol (FIX). FIX.NET is also being used extensively within the
UK’s fast developing electronic funds marketplace, EMX. .NET is Microsoft’s
platform for Extensible Mark-up Language (XML) based web services. By
running FIX.NET on the .NET platform, financial institutions will benefit
from new channels to market and will be able to enjoy new levels of
integration and configurability, thereby increasing flexibility and reducing
costs.

The .NET platform is designed around performing business processes on the
web. The platform provides a set of programming tools and infrastructure to
enable the deployment, management, and aggregation of XML web services. XML
web services bridge programming languages by adhering to a common set of
standard protocols and file formats.

In line with their strategy, SolutionForge’s FIX.NET suite has been built
from the ground up as native Windows code. FIX.NET provides FIX technology
that integrates fully within the Microsoft environment and supports the
development tools and techniques familiar to a wide range of developers.
This enables the customer to leverage their investment in systems and
development, operations and support personnel.

Steve Wilkinson, SolutionForge’s founder and CEO comments, “This
announcement is important because the financial industry needs better
integrated and more cost-effective STP solutions. This announcement means
that customers that use our solutions will gain powerful new channel
capabilities and much greater flexibility, whilst still reducing their Total
Cost of Ownership (TCO). We recognise that financial organisations are
increasingly standardising on Microsoft Windows technology for their core
business systems and we are committed to provide them with the best, proven
solutions. We are looking forward to a mutually beneficial and long-term
partnership with Microsoft.”

Jeremy Lehman, Chief Technologist - Financial Markets, Enterprise and
Partner Group, Microsoft Corporation, added "SolutionForge plays a valuable
role in Microsoft's strategy to provide the fastest way to achieve STP. We
look forward to working with SolutionForge to further advance their
scalability and TCO leadership."
