New Release of the Fontis Corporate PC Banking Solution.

Dublin, 9th July 2001 - MKI’s Dublin-based Fontis Product Centre is pleased to announce the release of Version 6.4 of the Fontis Corporate PC banking solution, a Windows 9X-NT-compliant, 32-bit application with significant new functionality.

A more robust development than its predecessor, Fontis Corporate 6.4 offers banks and their clients access to a high performance and more efficient electronic banking platform. Because of the nature of 32-bit operating systems the new solution presents clients with an extremely stable workstation for conducting their banking activities. The new version of Fontis Corporate also offers banks improved flexibility in terms of both database and password security functions.

Fontis Version 6.4 has a number of functional enrichments including improvements made to the payment instructions module, the balance and transaction reporting function as well as to the options and configuration settings. For example, the payment instructions function has been extended to allow users to enter their own beneficiary details when completing payment instructions. Like all of the functionality in Fontis, the ability to carry out this task is subject to access rights being assigned by the bank.

Within the balance and transaction reporting module, the currency conversion facility has been streamlined with the default currency settings being brought in line with the bank’s base currency. Another new feature is an enhancement to the client print function. Giving clients increased control and flexibility, it provides them with the ability to schedule the automatic printing of selected reports at any given time of day. In addition, it enables users to select groups of reports for printing which means they do not have to visit each report screen to print it off. They can select from a list of reports, accounts and date options.

The new 32-bit release is built upon the same platform as the Fontis Internet banking module, allowing banks to offer both corporate PC and Internet banking from one application server. Leslie Duckett, Fontis Sales and Marketing Manger said: "While we have witnessed exponential growth in the on-line banking market in the past 18 months, the PC banking market has proven to be equally important to us." We have noticed that banks with large corporate clients often favour the PC option. This is because their clients submit thousands of payment instructions in any given day and so the ability to prepare and import those instructions off-line can save them time and money.

He continued: "Our new Fontis Corporate 6.4 release, which is a straightforward upgrade for existing Fontis Corporate clients, highlights our commitment to the ongoing development of our solutions. The 32-bit solution will provide our clients with a more efficient and stable platform for their electronic banking requirements particularly in markets where telecommunications are still advancing."
