With 15 years' experience in the derivatives market, Benson brings a wealth of knowledge to Tamesis. In addition, he was voted 'derivatives superstar' two years running in Global Finance Magazine and has an entry in the Who's Who in Finance and Industry directories.
At Tamesis, Benson will work with the executive directors and senior management of the company to guide current operations with specific emphasis on the overall development strategy and positioning of Tamesis products.
Benson joins Tamesis from HSBC Bank with 13 years front line experience in
building and running international trading desks.
His roles at HSBC included:
*Setting up an equity derivatives trading operation;
*Head of Specialised Derivatives Group, managing a team of 25 people world-wide;
*Responsible for global FX options with teams in London, NY and Tokyo;
*Head of Retail Product Group - specialising in the development of structured products for the retail and private banking market.
In addition to the above roles, Benson has provided independent comment for
many financial publications including: Financial Times, Sunday Times, Risk
Magazine, Future and Options World and The Actuary. He has been a guest
speaker at derivative conferences throughout Europe, USA and Asia.
Benson is also an advisor to the Centre for Quantitative Finance, Imperial
College, University of London.
