Andre Podgaietsky, General Manager of GBM Oman, underscored the importance of the alliance. "The combination of our competencies in the area of e-business will enhance the circulation of information throughout Oman and the rest of the region to benefit government services, financial institutions, private businesses and the education sector," he said.
Alan Livingston, Chief Executive Officer of OTN, commented: "In the coming months ahead, Oman will be moving into the new information age, and our exchange will be greatly enhanced with the availability of high quality e-commerce applications. We are delighted to be making this announcement, as IBM and GBM are undoubtedly the number one choice for providing e-commerce solutions today."
Initially, GBM and OTN will focus on offerings for the Finance and Government sectors Oman. They plan to identify specific areas where they will jointly offer solutions in the public and private sectors as a ‘one-stop shop’. Both organisations will continue to develop their businesses independently for their customers.
GBM will continue to work in the different market segments, providing solutions adapted to their customers’ needs, through its professional services based on IBM platforms. Special attention will be put on the IBM WebSphere Technology implementation, reflecting the specific Oman market demands.
