We’re excited to invite you to join us on 5th March for our Future of Payments Conference!
As you’ll see below, we have a fantastic line up:
Innovation - how do we get real payment innovation adopted?
We’re an industry that loves to talk about innovation and disruption, but how many times have we seen solutions and indeed organisations go to the wall due to lack of adoption?
Julian Sawyer, CEO at Starling Bank, will join us to share his views on how to get real payments innovation adopted in his presentation 'Payments as a Utility - changing the dynamics'.
We’ll follow this with a panel discussion and Q&A where Julian will be joined by experts in the field of customer experience, as well as other organisations with first hand experience of getting new payments innovations adopted.
Merchant Sector Focus – Hospitality
As a standing item at our Future of Payments Conferences, we will focus on a merchant sector that faces specific payments challenges or where we have identified particular opportunities.
Hospitality is just such a sector and we are delighted to have Mark James, Master Principle Sales Consultant at Oracle, joining us to share his insights into what Oracle are seeing as the opportunities and challenges that they face working within this sector around payments, customer experience, integration etc.
With a focus on Hotels and F&B, Mark will also highlight what he, and Oracle, would like to see change around payments to ensure that we are collectively better serving the merchant community in this sector.
Following Mark’s presentation, he will be joined on stage by a panel of subject matter experts, from both solutions providers and service users, such as 3C Digital for an open Q&A/discussion session.
Standards - the relevance of standards in creating real value to the payments eco system?
The interoperability of payment solutions is something that Vendorcom has been a strong advocate of since our inception and so, we welcome the work done by nexo standards, who, through their standards “promote the widespread acceptance of protocols...' through 'a series of standards to ensure interoperability among card acceptance and acquiring solutions, retail payment solutions, and terminal management systems”.
Arnaud Crouzet is Secretary General of nexo and Vice President of Security & Consulting at FIME. Arnaud will be sharing details of the work that nexo has been doing and why, in both his and Vendorcom’s view, now is the time to go to nexo; how to get involved and who to go to for more information.
Arnaud will be joined on stage after his presentation by a panel including the World Wide Web Consortium and others, in which we’ll further explore the value that standards can create for all players within the payments eco system.
RTS for SCA, Brexit, FCA, PSR…
We’ll be announcing our speaker on this shortly, however, with the pending 14th September deadline for enforcement of the RTS for SCA, we’ll be looking at exactly what that enforcement is likely to look like and what the potential economic impact could be. Brexit will be looming even larger by 5th March; whilst we don’t currently know (and may still not know by then) whether it’ll be a ‘Deal or No Deal’ situation, we’ll bring you right up to date the implications of the position at the time. We’ll also look at FCA engagement, the work of the PSR and more.
As with our other sessions, after the initial presentation we’ll open things up to a panel-based discussion with a range of regulators, trade bodies and key affected parties.
