Axioma CEO Sebastian Ceria Named to Institutional Investor’s Tech 40 List Of “Financial Technology Leaders” for the Fourth Consecutive Year

Axioma CEO Sebastian Ceria has been named to Institutional Investor’s 2017 Tech 40 list of “power players in financial technology,” his fourth consecutive year on the list.

“Stressing innovative processes that invite customer collaboration, along with agile systems development and a heavy reliance on the capacity and flexibility of cloud computing, Axioma has grown to more than 250 employees and about 300 asset management, pension fund, and hedge fund clients worldwide,” reported Institutional Investor.

Founded by Ceria in 1998, Axioma is a recognized industry innovator, known for leveraging the latest in technology. Ceria, who ranked 35th on this year’s list, “built the New York-based business to keep pace as risk and portfolio management decisions increasingly require on-demand analytics that can’t be pushed back till the end of the day or overnight,” said Institutional Investor.

Axioma Risk, the company’s multi-asset class, enterprise-wide risk system launched in 2013, represented a “quantum leap forward” in risk management, combining “simulation and factor-based approaches for portfolio and risk managers on a common platform for the first time.”

“We could not have accomplished what we did without the cloud,” II quoted Ceria.

According to Institutional Investor, the Tech 40 rankings are “compiled by Institutional Investor editors and staff, with nominations and input from industry participants and experts. Four primary sets of attributes were evaluated: achievements and contributions over the course of a career; scope and complexity of responsibilities; influence and leadership inside and outside the organization; and pure technological innovation.”
