Scott Logic appoints new Head of Delivery

Bespoke software development consultancy Scott Logic has appointed a new Head of Delivery to further scale the growing business.

Matt Phillips joins the firm to lead the delivery teams across all four of its city centre locations, and drive further expansion of the business, which has seen its headcount grow to more than 210 since it was founded in 2005.

Cambridge graduate Matt has a career spanning more than 20 years in the IT industry in a variety of technology and delivery leadership roles, most recently as Client Executive at Avanade, where he ran the UK business’s largest client account.

Speaking about his appointment, Matt said: “This is an incredibly exciting time to be joining Scott Logic. I’ve been very impressed by the calibre of both the client base and our people, the company’s confident and inclusive culture, and the bold vision for the future of the business.”

Father of three Matt, who is a keen cyclist and used to own a Michelin-starred restaurant, will be primarily based at the firm’s London office, where considerable growth is expected through the development of more on-site consultancy and advisory services.

Scott Logic’s General Manager Nigel Wilson added: “The quality of our service is defined by our people, and Scott Logic continues to attract candidates of the highest calibre to join us in all areas of the business.

Matt’s appointment exemplifies this and we’re proud to welcome him to lead our delivery into its next phase of growth.”

Scott Logic is a bespoke software consultancy with offices in Newcastle (est. 2005), Edinburgh (est. 2007), Bristol (est. 2011) and London (est. 2014). The company was founded in 2005 by Gary Scott with the goal of building a successful software development consultancy, that prides itself on quality service and the calibre of its people, which now number more than 200.

With a number of longstanding clients from a range of sectors including investment banking, financial services, energy trading and oil and gas, the company provides a broad range of services, including User Experience (UX) design, project delivery and testing.

In 2011, Scott Logic also expanded to form a product-based business, shinobicontrols, which specialises in creating charts and tools for use on mobile apps, both for the individual developer and those in enterprise.
