Also named "Best Research Provider" and "Best Data Analytics Provider" for 2016
FactSet, a leading provider of integrated financial information and analytical applications, has been awarded the "Best Overall Provider" of market data, research and analytics for 2016 by Inside Market Data (IMD), an Incisive Media publication that covers the market data sector of the financial services industry.
FactSet's achievement was announced at the Inside Market Data/Inside Reference Data Awards Dinner held on May 18, 2016 in New York. FactSet was also named "Best Research Provider" and "Best Analytics Provider" in the annual IMD awards competition.
"Being named ‘Best Overall Provider' of market data and service by Inside Market Data is a significant accomplishment for us and recognizes our unwavering commitment to partnering with global investment professionals across asset classes and at every stage of the investment process to help them meet the challenges of rapid change in financial markets," says Goran Skoko, Senior Vice President, Workstation Solutions, FactSet.
The IMD "Best Research Provider" award recognizes FactSet's Research Management Solutions (RMS), which help clients institutionalize and optimize their research workflow and centralize ideas, notes, and recommendations, ultimately making research faster and easier to store, retrieve, track and share across investment teams. FactSet is the largest provider of RMS solutions in the industry and is used by firms in all asset classes.
The IMD "Best Analytics Provider" award spotlights FactSet's Portfolio Analytics (PA), a multi-asset class, global solution that helps investment professionals get from data to decision faster. Included is FactSet's Geographical Revenue dataset which is unique in the industry and provides a true understanding of a portfolio's exposure to geopolitical, macroeconomic and market factors.
"In awarding FactSet the award for Best Research Provider, the judges called FactSet ‘by far the industry leader,' while in the Best Analytics Provider category, the judges called FactSet Portfolio Analytics ‘a robust offering from a proven player,' that is ‘always a best-in-class product,' and ‘a benchmark for analytics in this competitive space'," explains Max Bowie, editor of Inside Market Data and executive editor of Inside Reference Data. "FactSet's triumph in the new overall Best Data Provider category reflects these wins, as well as the breadth of its entries in other categories where it was also a strong contender. Taking all this into account, FactSet has shown itself able to consistently punch above its weight, and we believe is therefore a deserving winner of this inaugural award."
