Launch Strengthens Western Union Agent Network in Mexico, Makes Receiving Money Even More Convenient for Consumers
Now, people living throughout the country have even more options from which to receive the support they need: They can visit any of these locations and pick up money sent from their family and friends throughout the world.
“Thanks to a successful collaboration with Farmacias Guadalajara, Western Union continues to give consumers even more options to receive global money transfers in-country,” said Luis Felipe Rodriguez Vega, vice president and general manager, Mexico, Western Union. “This launch is another example of our commitment to growing our Agent network in Mexico — one of the top remittance receiving countries in the world.”
According to the World Bank, Mexico ranks fourth on the list of top worldwide recipients of remittances for 2013, receiving an estimated US$22 billion annually.
“Thanks to this important alliance, we are strengthening our commitment to give our customers more and better services,” said Maria Fernanda García Orozco, finance sub-director at Farmacias Guadalajara.
Farmacias Guadalajara locations are open to customers seven days a week, and remittances services at these locations are offered from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time.
