  • Publication awards HID Global its best possible ratings for features, performance and documentation in review of company’s ActivID Authentication Appliance
  • ActivID Authentication Appliance is also praised for its wide variety of strong authentication methods for several services and online applications
  • Initial configuration of the appliance is deemed simple and straightforward, and documentation is described as “flawless”
HID Global®, a worldwide leader in secure identity solutions, today announced that the company’s ActivID® Authentication Appliance received top marks in the annual authentication product review by SC Magazine, a leading publication serving CSOs and IT security decision-makers. In addition the appliance received five out of a possible five stars for its features, performance and documentation, and near-perfect marks in the areas of support, value for money, and its overall rating.

“We are extremely proud to have received this positive review of our ActivID Authentication Appliance from one of the most well-respected publications in the security industry,” said Dr. Selva Selvaratnam, senior vice president and chief technology officer with HID Global. “The appliance was described in the review as being easy to install with lots of features, and a great option for large enterprises with experienced administration. Additionally, HID Global’s virtual version of our ActivID appliance brings these and other benefits to an even broader audience.”

HID Global’s ActivID appliance protects corporate, financial and government organizations with risk-appropriate and cost-effective user authentication that goes beyond passwords. Available as a hardware or a virtual appliance, the solution helps to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO), is easy to deploy, and is simple to integrate into an organization’s existing network infrastructure. With the optional ActivID Threat Detection Service, the appliance can also transparently protect online transactions from a wide range of advanced persistent threats, phishing, man-in-the-middle and man-in-the-browser attacks.
