Accusoft, the leading provider of document, content and imaging solutions, announces today that it has purchased the building at 829 West Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Tampa, Florida, 33603. The Tampa-based independent software developer acquired the two-story, 24,000-square-foot office building to accommodate its rapidly growing staff.
Despite the lingering effects of a recession that has caused other companies to downsize, Accusoft has experienced so much growth in recent years that its staff complement has almost exhausted the capacity of its two Tampa office buildings: the headquarters building on the corner of West Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and Riverside Drive, and the “West Annex” building at 1725 West Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, just across the Hillsborough River from headquarters. Accusoft opened the West Annex in 2011 to house its burgeoning team of scientists and software engineers, and is already in need of more space.
The new building, the Accusoft “East Annex,” is immediately east of the headquarters property. According to Accusoft Vice President of Finance and Administration Anthony Sanchez, the company did not initially set out to create a contiguous campus, but evaluated properties within a 15-mile radius of headquarters. Finding no suitable building, Accusoft approached the owners of the adjacent property, which was not up for sale at the time, and began a dialog that culminated in the purchase.
“Nobody could have anticipated that we would continue to grow so successfully, even in tough economic times,” said Accusoft President Jack Berlin. “The purchase of the East Annex ensures that Accusoft will be able to continue to grow and innovate and serve our expanding customer base as we have for two decades now, and counting.”
