Misys Wins “Best Buy-Side Commodities Trading Platform/Service” in Buy-Side Technology Awards 2013

Misys Sophis VALUE is again recognised by Buy-Side Technology magazine for its commodities offering

Misys, the global application software and services company has won the award for “Best Buy-Side Commodities Trading Platform/Service” for its Sophis VALUE solution.

At the Buy-Side Technology awards hosted by Waters in London, Misys Sophis VALUE won the accolade for its commodities module. This offers full portfolio and risk management functionality to asset managers, hedge funds and corporate organisations for any basic commodity or commodity derivative. Misys Sophis VALUE supports different commodity types, like oil, coal, gas, power, freight, emissions, soft commodities, plastics, fertilisers, weather precious metals and base metals, including LME.

Thanks to a fast development pace and heavy investment in the product, Misys Sophis has achieved major milestones in the commodities and energy sector, and currently has 15 clients now using its commodities trading platform. It has recently released several new components to the commodities offer to meet increased trading activity in flow exotic commodity derivatives and precious metals. This includes a module for physical metal management and a module for equity-commo-FX hybrid structuring. Sophis VALUE’s commodities functionality is particularly strong with regards to structuring commodity derivatives using commodities baskets and commodities composite indices within swaps and options.
