Ibbotson Associates Australia, a unit of Morningstar's Investment Management division, has announced several staff appointments designed to expand its distribution and client management capabilities.
Scott Mclennan has joined Ibbotson as Senior Relationship Manager, Katharine Jackson and Brent Finneran Relationship Associates, and Amanda Freeman as Investment Services Associate. The new appointments all report to Matthew Esler, Head of Distribution.

Mclennan will be responsible for building sales relationships nationally through both retail and institutional channels. He brings 16 years of industry experience, and worked most recently as National Director – Capital Markets Investor Sales and Distribution for Westpac Institutional Bank. Before that, Mclennan held positions as Senior Fund Manager/Director for real estate fund manager Aurelius Investment Group as well as sales/business development and product specialist/analyst roles for Dresdner, UBS Warburg, and Deutsche Bank in the United Kingdom.
Jackson and Finneran will support the delivery of Ibbotson's investment advisory services and investment management capabilities to retail and institutional clients. Jackson was previously an Investment Adviser for Dixon Advisory, responsible for developing and executing wealth management and asset allocation strategies for clients. Finneran worked previously as a Business Development Associate and Client Service Officer for Merrill Lynch Portfolio Management in London and as a Client Service Coordinator for NAB Private Wealth on the Gold Coast.
Freeman will be responsible for delivering Ibbotson's service offering to new and existing institutional clients, supporting the Investment Advisory and Investment teams. She has 12 years of financial services industry experience, including six years in the United Kingdom in relationship and client management positions with Lazard Asset Management, Seven Investment Management, and Capita Financial Group. Freeman most recently worked as a Business Development Officer for Pengana Capital.
