InvestTech Assists Pension Fund with Complex OMS Upgrade

InvestTech Systems Consulting, LLC, the leading investment technology and investment operations consulting firm for institutional investment managers, successfully partnered with a North American pension fund to perform a Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS) Version 9 upgrade project. Because of the extensive functional and technical changes in Version 9, client customization to the prior version, and a heavy dependence on CRIMS throughout the firm, this upgrade was unusually complex.

The Version 9 upgrade required participation and coordination across multiple stakeholders, as the prior CRIMS version was used by the fund’s trading desks, portfolio managers, assistants, operations personnel, and compliance team. Fortunately, the InvestTech team had years of CRIMS experience, including trading, operations, analytics, compliance rules, system configurations, integration specifications, development of third-party connectivity solutions, and production support. InvestTech’s structured project management methodology and upgrade framework were used to assure clear communication, coordination, and timely delivery of the upgraded environment while supporting “business as usual” for the existing environment and its users.

InvestTech’s Order Management System expertise includes system evaluation and selection, specialized system enhancements, initial implementations, upgrades, and integration with major industry systems and data providers. InvestTech has hands-on experience with OMS products from leading vendors including, but not limited to, Advent, Bloomberg, BlackRock, Charles River Development, ConvergEx Group, Fidessa Group, Investment Technology Group, Inc. (ITG) and SunGard.
