HiPortfolio wins Asset Servicing Award for third year in a row

DST Global Solutions, a market-leading provider of software technology and services to the investment and wealth management industry, has been named ‘European Asset Servicing Technology Vendor of the Year’ at the prestigious Annual Custody Risk (formerly ICFA) European Awards 2012 for the third year running. DST Global Solutions was chosen from a shortlist of four finalists by a panel of independent judges.

The Custody Risk European Awards champion best practice and innovation in the securities servicing industries. Judged by an independent panel, winners must demonstrate excellence across several criteria, including significant client wins, major client facing innovation and solution enhancements over the past 12 months.

Arun Sarwal, CEO at DST Global Solutions, said: “We are proud to win this prestigious award for an unprecedented third successive time. It is the result of a wide ranging programme of significant investment in functionality, processes, tools and people that we have made over the past three years in HiPortfolio®.

During this period of significant functional enhancements, we have introduced Data Retrieval Objects across multiple functional areas to improve access to core data which enhances reporting, a new Admin Dashboard which provides IT administrators with a web interface to monitor and control their investment operations and also addressed the automation of corporate actions. All these developments have been underpinned by our new Global Success Framework methodology and regular roadmaps published outlining future developments. To support this investment, we have implemented several new roles and recruited high calibre people to raise standards in product management, quality assurance and subject matter expertise. Our centres of excellence in Melbourne and Bangkok continually invest in enhancing their skills to ensure we deliver and support a solution which remains current and successfully meets the operational demands placed upon our clients by the industry.”

Geoff Harries, Global Head of Asset Servicing for DST, added, “Winning this award and retaining our position as ‘European Asset Servicing Technology Vendor of the Year’ for the third year in a row underlines the hard work and commitment applied by our Asset Servicing team globally. The execution of these new capabilities ensures HiPortfolio meets the ongoing challenges our clients face.

Looking forward, we will deliver further enhancements, such as Business Intelligence and new interfaces, offering improved efficiency of enquiry, flexible data mining and increased compatibility with Anova, our post-trade investment data aggregation, analytics and reporting product suite. We will continue to invest in training and enhancing the skills of our expert global team with the aim of accelerating development by 15-20%.”

HiPortfolio is a leading Asset Servicing solution, at the heart of over 160 investment management firms spanning 35 countries. Each business day it supports critical fund accounting and post-trade data management functions to help firms remain efficient, in control of their business and in compliance with regulation.

The Custody Risk European Awards recognise service quality, achievements and commitment to the industry. The judging panel for the awards was formed by: Dr Christopher Sier, Director of the Financial Services Knowledge Transfer Network; Werner Frey, Managing Director, Association for Financial Markets in Europe; and Randall Hobbs, Chief Financial Officer, Liongate Capital Management.
