Advent Recognized For Its Cutting Edge Technology; Black Diamond’s iPad App Chosen As The Most Innovative Mobile Technology Application
Advent Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADVS), a leading provider of software and services for the global investment management industry, has announced that its Black Diamond platform offers an iPad app that has been recognized as the winner of “Most Innovative Mobile Technology Application” in the 2012 Financial Technologies Forum News (FTF News) Technology Innovation Awards.
Maureen Lowe, founder, President and Editor-in-chief of FTF News, commented, “We would like to congratulate Advent on their win. In our second year of conducting this awards process, we have found that the functional criteria have become much more demanding. A lot of careful thought and hard effort goes into the nomination and voting process. FTF News always strives to address the central and most topical concerns of the financial industry and this is reflected in our events as well as in our publication and awards.”
The FTF News subscribers select the award nominees by taking a survey that identifies and evaluates advancements in the financial technology and services industry. The FTF News editorial board then chooses the award winners. The Most Innovative Technology Application category is judged based on how a mobile computing implementation reinvents a business process, making it more efficient, effective and timely.
Black Diamond’s innovative iPad app allows advisors to access the platform from anywhere, anytime, and automatically synchronizes with different users’ personalized settings. Black Diamond’s iPad app delivers a consistent experience, enabling users to perform meaningful work on the go and continue to grow their own bottom line, even while away from the home office.
Ted Rich, Principal of Vinoy Capital LLC and a Black Diamond client, said, “Mobility of data allows us to be headquartered in Orlando, FL, live in Boulder, CO and service clients all over the country. We do have staff in Orlando, but because of Black Diamond, that’s all we need. We could easily grow our business another 40 percent without ever making another hire.”
Advent acquired Black Diamond in June 2011 to provide greater value and innovation to US advisory firms looking for more services and solutions to address the needs of their clients. With the addition of Black Diamond, Advent’s advisory customers can take advantage of enhanced portfolio management, performance reporting and data reconciliation to better meet their business objectives and provide exceptional customer service.
“We are honored to be recognized by the editorial board and the FTF News readers for delivering innovative solutions that have a significant positive impact on our industry,” said Reed Colley, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Black Diamond. “The prestigious award validates our commitment to our clients’ greatness and success as well as our focus on the strength of our technology offerings.”
