Markel modernises with new Sequel system

• Markel to replace 8 core policy administration systems with just one: Sequel’s Eclipse software.

• Markel’s business transformation programme runs on Sequel’s software.

Sequel, the insurance and reinsurance software specialists, have just successfully completed, on time and on budget, the software to support Markel International Limited’s business transformation programme. Sequel’s Eclipse software will replace eight core policy administration systems and a further 12 sub-systems, which will be retired or replaced. The full system will go live in early 2012.

Eclipse is the central component on which Markel’s global business change programme is being built. This all important modernising phase paves the way for the rest of our planned large-scale delivery programme. The programme will give Markel just one core system to run its global business on.
