École Centrale in Beijing partners with Orange

Orange Business Services - Trading Solutions is delighted to announce that the Orange group has become a partner of the École Centrale in Beijing.

The Centrale Graduate School (École Centrale) is a leading French engineering school with locations in Lille, Lyon, Nantes, Marseille and Paris and a long history of excellence in producing engineering graduates. The oldest one, in Paris, was established in 1829 as the École Centrale des Arts et Manufactures in response to a need for professionals trained in the practical applications of major scientific discoveries of the day. In September 2005 the École Centrale in Beijing was officially inaugurated as a cooperative venture between the Centrale Graduate School and BeiHang University (BUAA) with the support of the Chinese Education Ministry and the French Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs. Three of the six highly intensive years of the course are dedicated to engineering. Upon graduation the students are expected to be tri-lingual in Chinese, English and French, and it is hoped that they will attain highly responsible positions in French or Chinese companies soon after graduation.

Orange has a long history of investing in China. In particular Orange Business Services - Trading Solutions has had a significant presence in China since 1995. It has captured an impressive market share of around 70% and can count five of the biggest Chinese banks as clients of its trading room products. In a move to consolidate its leading position in China it was announced in November 2007 that Orange Business Services - Trading Solutions had acquired Dataway, its long-term Chinese partner.

Says Pierre-Louis de Guillebon, CEO of Orange Business Services - Trading Solutions: “When many of the world’s largest corporations are looking for ways to make money out of China we are actively investing in China and its future. We are always looking for practical ways to help develop its talented businessmen and women of tomorrow and are very proud that our investment in the École Centrale in Beijing is part of this drive.”
