Thomson Financial, an operating unit of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC, TSX: TOC), and leading provider of information and technology solutions to the global financial community, was declared Best Overall Data Provider, at the TradeTech 2007 Awards.

Thomson Financial was presented with this accolade ahead of other short-listed vendors including Reuters, Fidessa, GL Trade, Quant House and Dow Jones. The winners were announced at the TradeTech Gala Awards Dinner on 25th April at Hôtel Concorde La Fayette in Paris. The Shortlist of Finalists was complied by a Judging Panel of industry experts, assembled by Worldwide Business Research, the company which staged the TradeTech Conference and Awards. The Judges selected Thomson Financial as the Best Overall Data Provider after assessing over 25 nominations in that category.

Commenting on the award, Bill Haney, European Commercial Director, Thomson Financial, said: “It is particularly pleasing that Thomson Financial has received this accolade in recognition of the positive impact our pre-trade data feeds and analytics solutions have made with our clients across both the buy and sell-side and with the judging panel. The fact that Thomson ONE can be configured to reflect the different needs of clients, together with the integration of our leading products, including Thomson Order Routing, AutEx, IBES and Datastream, has helped to strengthen our position as a major player in the financial information sector”.

Brian Nolk, Head of Business Development for TradeTech, said: “The TradeTech 2007 Awards acknowledge how pre-trade data feeds and analytics are essential to modern dealing rooms and the comprehensiveness and accuracy of the data is vital as are the speed of data manipulation and the ease of use. My congratulations go to Thomson Financial for winning this accolade.”
