The Logic Group Leads the Way on PCI Data Security Standard

First European multi-channel managed service to comply with new standard

Secure transaction specialist The Logic Group today announced that its Managed Service has been certified as compliant with the new Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI: DSS) as required by Visa and MasterCard. This is Europe’s first compliant true multi-channel managed service to meet the latest more stringent requirements covering point of sale, mail order telephone order (MOTO) and Internet payment processing. This is the latest in a long list of firsts from The Logic Group, which include integrated, Chip & PIN, Dynamic Currency Conversion, Purchasing Cards and on-line authorisation solutions. The Managed Service has been considered by independent experts to be one of the world’s best.

“With over 200 million transactions being processed annually by The Logic Group’s Managed Service on behalf of a series of top household brands from the retail, financial services and telecommunications industries, PCI: DSS compliance was a top priority for us,” says The Logic Group Chairman, Gareth Wokes. “This certification is a massive achievement for The Logic Group and its Managed Service. Our clients now have both the reassurance that cardholder data is secure and the service keeps them up to date with changing bank and card scheme regulations.”

Gaining compliance entailed a stringent examination of all aspects of the Managed Service, including people and processes as well as the IT infrastructure and applications underpinning the service. This was far harder than achieving certification for earlier individual card scheme standards. The certification was awarded after a comprehensive audit conducted by independent Qualified Security Assessor, One-Sec.

Commenting on the group’s PCI: DSS certification, One-Sec Chief Executive Officer Riaan Versfeld said, “The Logic Group are to be congratulated for taking a lead on PCI: DSS and achieving compliance for their multi-channel Managed Service. In addition to the Group’s Managed Services achieving compliance, the group has upgraded its software products to remove discretionary data in order to comply with the standard. The Logic Group is also helping merchants achieve PCI: DSS compliance through a range of consultancy services designed to help businesses obtain PCI compliance with minimal disruption and cost.
