Fleet, Hampshire – 30th May 2006 - Secure transaction specialists, The Logic Group, today announced that it has entered into a new strategic partnership with AmbironTrustWave Ltd, a certified Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) for Visa Europe. As the urgency for PCI DSS compliance (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) becomes more important, the two firms have joined forces launching a package of services that help businesses become compliant with the new global standard, introduced by Visa and MasterCard. A security breach associated with non-compliance can lead to brand damage, financial penalties or even being barred from accepting card transactions.
“The recent high profile breaches in the UK clearly demonstrates that fraudsters are now targeting people and processes and not just technology, to help obtain consumers’ credit and debit card details,” said Brooks Wallace, Managing Director EMEA for AmbironTrustWave Ltd. “Technology alone is not enough, businesses need to take a holistic approach when considering security.”
The PCI DSS standard has been created to improve security of cardholder information and encourage the adoption of industry best practise. The partnership is currently advising early adopter Heathrow Express, helping to ensure they become fully compliant. The standard will ensure their customers’ card details will remain safe and secure however their payment card is used.
“Partnering with AmbironTrustWave Ltd. allows us to offer clients a complete PCI DSS compliance programme from initial assessment, through remediation, to full card scheme certification,” added Logic Group Marketing Director Mark McMurtrie. “It’s becoming increasingly urgent that any company who processes, stores or transmits payment transactions and therefore personal card data, realises the significant risks of non compliance and takes action now. This partnership provides merchants with the solutions and specialist expertise needed to help merchants become compliant as quickly and as painlessly as possible.”
Brooks Wallace added, “The combination of our vulnerability assessment technology and compliance services with The Logic Group’s expertise in card processing and information security offers merchants the right combination for tackling PCI DSS compliance.”
The joint PCI DSS compliance programme provides businesses with a blend of face-to-face consulting time, automated web-based tools, network vulnerability scans and programme management. A pre-compliance assessment is conducted by The Logic Group to identify non-compliant areas, followed by a set of remediation services to address any identified issues.
The Logic Group will manage the overall project with the compliance audit and certification being conducted by AmbironTrustWave Ltd. in their capacity as a Visa certified Qualified Security Assessor (QSA). Clients will also benefit from the powerful TrustKeeper® compliance portal, which acts as a management reporting tool to track progress towards compliance.
