London May 25, 2006 – The operational performance of the leading fund managers and institutional broker/dealers was celebrated last night at the Eighth Annual FSmetrics Securities Industry Awards Dinner. Six firms won across 10 categories covering automation and other operational performance levels.
Two out of the three asset management winners were based in Scotland. Invesco won the award for Best Investment Manager Operational Performance in Fixed Income, as well as the award for Best STP Performance by an Investment Manager. Blackrock International received the accolade for Best Investment Manager Transaction Timeliness and Accuracy Performance in Equities and for Best Investment Manager Operational Performance in Equities. Baillie Gifford won the prize for Most Improved STP Performance by an Investment Manager.
The institutional broker/dealer community also received acknowledgement from its clients and peers. ABN Amro took the awards for both Best Broker/Dealer Operational Performance in Fixed Income and Best Broker/Dealer Operational Performance in Equities. Goldman Sachs took to the stage to receive the awards for Best Broker/Dealer Confirmation Management in Equities and Best Broker/Dealer Confirmation Management in Fixed Income.
A new award was presented for the first time for Best Operational Performance by a Fund Manager Outsource Provider in Equities and was won by HSBC. This was the first time that hard operational data had been used to analyse the asset management outsource provider community.
The awards were presented by comedian Barry Cryer and the dinner, held in the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel, London was sponsored by ADP Brokerage Services and ADP Wilco.
The results were produced from data provided by FSmetrics, the financial services operational performance external benchmarking provider and were based on data from the previous 12 months within the STP Benchmarks FSmetrics, Broker Performance FSmetrics and Investment Manager Performance FSmetrics services.
