May 19, 2006 - The IFSB Summit, themed “Aligning the Architecture of the Islamic Finance to the evolving Industry Needs”, held on May 17 and 18, 2006 in Beirut under the patronage of H.E. Fuad Siniora, Prime Minister of Lebanon, has brought together Central Banks’ Governors, distinguished global personalities and some 250 practitioners representing various international, regional and local institutions.
Delegates at the two-day summit were in favor of implementing a uniform, industry-wide set of Islamic banking regulations, with a focus on strengthening the role of Islamic Finance in the world economic development.
