For the first time ever, a selection of the best thinking from SWIFT’s annual Sibos conference is made available in a refereed journal
London/New York, April 7, 2006 – The Capco Institute today announced the publication for the first time of a series of papers first presented at SWIFT’s Sibos conference. They have been published in a special section of the 16th issue of the Institute’s Journal of Financial Transformation entitled, “Transformation 2.”
The theme of the Sibos conference which took place in Copenhagen last September was ‘Transformation’. This is the first time in the conference’s history that a collection of articles have been written based on the best thinking presented at the conference and published in a formal, refereed Journal.
Johan Kestens, Head of Marketing and Member of the Executive Steering Group, SWIFT, the organisers of Sibos, commented, “We are delighted to be able to make some of the best thinking from our conference more widely available by having these papers published in a publication of the quality of the Journal of Financial Transformation.” Kestens emphasised that “Sibos is much more than a conference and exhibition; it is the world’s premier financial services event, attracting the industry’s leading figures and firms.” Kestens concluded that the successful partnership with The Journal was the result of “our [Sibos and The Journal] common mission to promote practical transformation thinking in the financial services industry. This shared mission made Sibos and the Journal perfect partners for this exercise.”
Dr Shahin Shojai, Director of Research at Capco, and Editor of the “Journal of financial transformation,” said, “We are very pleased that Sibos have chosen to publish these papers in this, the fifth anniversary issue of the Journal. To be the sole referee of the papers coming out of a conference as important to the financial services industry as Sibos illustrates just how much trust the industry places in the opinion of the board of editors of the Journal.”
Rob Heyvaert, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Capco, added "We are committed to providing the industry with the kind of leading thinking that truly forms the future of finance. That is why we created Capco and the Capco Institute. This Journal and the ideas it publishes proves that Transformation as a concept is very much alive in the financial services industry."
