Forbis Ltd 2005 Annual Review

VILNIUS, January 2006/Forbis Ltd. – the year 2005 was rather significant for the Forbis Company: for the purpose of improving customer servicing and company management efficiency a restructuring of the company was started; the staff was enlarged; the Banking Information System FORPOST developed by the company was considerably updated; many seminars for the banks of Latvia and Russia were conducted by the company’s specialists; a number of long-term contracts were concluded.


In January the Forbis Company opened its second office in a strategically convenient and prestigious "Europa" Business Centre.


Project Manager, Bug Tracking, Documentation Manager Support systems as well as the company’s information portal were updated.

The Forbis Company and the Baltic Amadeus Company signed an Agreement on Co-operation in the sphere of distribution and implementation of COGNOS software of the Business Intelligence class.

Through the means of FORPOST*Interchange Server and the newest technologies of XML document processing BIS FORPOST was integrated with the Lithuanian Information System of Debtor Administration (SAIS).


On March 2, 2005, the Forbis Company and the Microlink Lietuva Company signed an agreement on co-operation in the sphere of distribution and implementation of the Microstrategy software of the Business Intelligence class.


Forbis Ltd together with its international partners started working on the solutions that would ensure full compliance of the Banking Information System FORPOST with the requirements of the New Capital Accord, known as Basel II.


In May, 2005 the Forbis Company started testing of the BIS FORPOST operation in the environment of Oracle 9i RAC. The company developed technological recommendations on the use of Oracle RAC for the banks-customers and adapted several modules.

A half-year work on testing the performance of BIS FORPOST on the platforms of the leading hardware manufacturers, such as Sun Microsystems, IBM, Hewlett Packard, and Bull, was completed. The testing showed high output of the FORPOST system while processing large and extra large data volumes even on the servers of a medium capacity.


In order to reduce the load on the main FORPOST database while forming the ever more complex mandatory reports, and to provide customers with analytical tools, Forbis started to transfer the preparation of reports to the FORPOST*Data Warehouse repository.


Jet Infosystems – a leading system integrator in Russia, and the Forbis Company signed an agreement granting Jet Infosystems an exclusive right to use and promote the Forbis trademark and the FORPOST Banking Information System on the territory of the Russian Federation.
A new FORPOST 4.3.0 version, adapted to Oracle 9i, was released.


Restructuring of the Forbis Company was started seeking compliance with the ISO 9001 standard.


Representatives of Forbis and Jet Infosystems took part in the XI International Forum of Integral Banking System Developers in Moscow. It is an annual event, held by the Association of Russian Banks.


A new FORPOST 4.3.1 version was released.
The Forbis Company, encouraged by its partners, joined the Itanium Solutions Alliance, formed on September 26, 2005.
Responding to the confirmation of the National Plan of Euro Currency Introduction by the Government of Lithuania, the Forbis Company created a workgroup for performing an essential analysis and making necessary changes to the system as well as conducting consultations with banks to ensure smooth transition to the common European currency and uninterrupted operation of the FORPOST Banking Information System.
An important event of the month was the signing of an agreement between the Forbis Company and one of the Latvian banks on the implementation of the FORPOST Banking Information System.
An intense campaign of seminars and presentations for Latvian banks was conducted on a topic "FORPOST – new possibilities for retail banking technologies".
In the end of the month Forbis and Jet Infosystems conducted a seminar in Yekaterinburg for the representatives of the Ural region banks.


The Forbis Company signed a Licence Agreement and a Distributor Agreement with Quadrant Risk Management International Limited.


On December 7, 2005 the Forbis Company released a new version of the Banking Information System FORPOST 4.3.2, featuring a new interface based on Oracle Developer 6i.
