- Trading, Portfolio Management, and Compliance Operations Consolidated on One Platform to Increase Efficiencies and Reduce Errors and Costs -
BURLINGTON, MA, LONDON, MELBOURNE and SINGAPORE, December 5, 2005 — Charles River Development, a leading provider of financial software and consulting services to the global investment management community, today announced that Cazenove Capital Management has completed its implementation of the Charles River Investment Management System (Charles River IMS) to support their equities, fixed income, derivatives, and foreign exchange portfolio strategies. Cazenove Capital, a leader in managing UK and European securities for professional advisers, institutions, charities, and private individuals, has 100 users on the system including 70 fund managers, seven traders, and three compliance managers. With headquarters in London, Cazenove Capital manages £9.1 billion assets and went live on the system in May 2005.
Charles River IMS is a comprehensive front- and middle-office software suite for portfolio management and modelling (Charles River Manager), order management and electronic trading (Charles River Trader), real-time compliance monitoring (Charles River Compliance), and the centralised management of trade matching, confirmation, and settlement workflow post-trade communications (Charles River Post-Trade).
The Charles River IMS implementation was part of a company-wide initiative to upgrade Cazenove Capital’s front-, middle- and back-office operations, providing employees with additional functionality and a streamlined communications workflow for higher levels of efficiency. "Since implementing Charles River IMS, we have realised workflow benefits across the board. Operating on one enterprise-wide platform allows our fund managers, traders, and compliance staff to manage all securities and portfolios on one real-time solution, dramatically improving workflow efficiency and precision," said Stewart Norwood, head of technology at Cazenove Capital Management.
"Charles River Manager easily facilitates our modelling between portfolios and industry and/or fund benchmarks, allowing for hypothetical ‘what-if’ analysis and impact analysis against real-time compliance checks," said Norwood. "The easy-to-use drag and drop functionality in Charles River Compliance enables users to quickly apply rules to any number of accounts to ensure adherence to fund, client, regulatory, and complex-wide guidelines."
