November 30, 2005 Sonic Software, the inventor and leading provider of the enterprise service bus (ESB), and an operating unit of Progress Software Corporation (Nasdaq: PRGS), today announced that Hub Vandervoort has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Sonic Software. As CTO, Vandervoort will be responsible for incorporating market and customer requirements into the industry leading ESB-based Sonic SOA Suite", and evangelising Sonic's leading-edge developments in the enterprise service bus (ESB) and service-oriented architecture (SOA) infrastructure market. Vandervoort also works closely with Progress Software office of the CTO to coordinate Sonic strategy across the Progress operating units.

In the last year, Vandervoort has worked closely with Sonic's financial services clients to establish Sonic ESB® as the platform of choice for organisations deploying extended trading operations and real-time securities master integration based on SOA.
Vandervoort has over twenty years experience as an entrepreneur, consultant and senior technology executive in the networking, communications software and Internet industries. Prior to joining Sonic, Vandervoort co-founded and managed several successful start-up ventures.
