Alaric Systems Limited Chooses IBM as Preferred Partner to Help Deliver On-Demand Solutions to Meet Global Payments Industry Customer Needs

Alaric Joins IBM PartnerWorld Industry Networks

London, England, July 7th 2005 – Alaric Systems Limited today announced it has achieved industry-optimized status in IBM’s PartnerWorld Industry Networks. Alaric can now take advantage of IBM's sales, marketing and technical expertise to develop and deliver on-demand solutions that meet customer requirements in the global payments industry.

Alaric creates software to serve a blue-chip client base of banks, card processors and other financial institutions in the UK, Europe and the Americas. Key products include Authentic, which is a comprehensive card authorization, payment gateway and switching solution, and Sabre and Fractals, which offer card issuers and acquirers a choice of approaches to fraud prevention. Alaric and IBM have been working together to port these products to key technical environments including AIX and Linux on POWER5, Linux on IBM eServer xSeries and WebSphere MQ.

Written entirely in Java, Alaric products are fully scaleable and ideally suited to the on demand environment. Authentic can meet any card payments processing need, from the smallest to the largest issuer or acquirer. It delivers high availability, total flexibility in meeting new business requirements, and comprehensive user control of processing and risk management rules.

With Sabre, fraud and risk managers can respond instantly to shifting card fraud patterns by means of dynamic user rules. Little change is necessary to existing authorization systems; rules are created or modified in real time without disturbance to the operational authorization infrastructure.
Fractals provides a complete card fraud detection framework which, while powerful enough for the largest organizations and ideal for multi-bank environments, also puts custom fraud detection models within the reach of small to medium sized institutions.
