Imaging Technology Leader AccuSoft Corporation Introduces ImageGear for .NET

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – July 26, 2004 – AccuSoft® Corporation, the leading provider of imaging technology and data and imaging analysis solutions, announced today a comprehensive new release of its award-winning ImageGear® imaging toolkit – ImageGear for .NET. ImageGear for .NET allows for reading, writing and conversion of images in over 23 of the most popular formats. Providing full access to the file format metadata, this high-performance toolkit provides a fully-managed .NET solution with no dependencies on outside native code. As a result, there are no extra DLLs to ship or ActiveX controls to register, allowing for an easier deployment of applications, whether they are in an Internet Explorer browser, desktop application, or Web form. With the additional PDF module comes the ability to read and write PDF documents, making use of the 100% Adobe PDF libraries. This ensures the most current version of the format is available, and allows users to automatically conform to the highest PDF Language Standard. For reading and writing of JPEG2000 format images, an optional module is also available.

ImageGear for .NET also supports a variety of color spaces and Image Processing options, and comes with context sensitive help and documentation that is fully integrated with Visual studio .NET, allowing developers complete access to comprehensive detail on each ImageGear function. In addition, ImageGear for .NET supports all TWAIN versions up to and including the latest, version 1.9, and as a result, can be used to develop applications that acquire images from scanners, cameras or frame-grabbers that support the TWAIN interface.

“The addition of ImageGear for .NET to the AccuSoft product family further demonstrates our commitment to providing our customers with high-quality leading-edge solutions that provide all the features and functionality required to quickly develop reliable, high-end imaging applications,” said Tom Leone, president, AccuSoft Corporation. “With the delivery of ImageGear for .NET, we have significantly strengthened our leadership position by offering comprehensive solutions for every major operating system and development environment in use today.”

Formats supported by ImageGear for .NET include: BMP, CALS, CLP, DCX, DIB, EXIF, GIF, JPEG, MSP, PBM, PCD, PCX, PGM, PNG, PNM, PPM, PSD, SCITEX, SGI, TGA, and TIFF (Uncompressed, Group3, Group3/2D, Group4, Huffman, JPEG, LZW, Packbits, Deflate), and each can be configured using image control parameters.

Samples are included to increase the versatility of the product, and include Windows Forms (C# or VB.NET) samples for PDF reading and writing, TWAIN Scanning, core functions and formats, image processing, thumbnail creation, and display operations. In addition, there are ASP.NET Web Forms samples.

As with all of AccuSoft’s offerings, ImageGear for .NET includes extensive, customer-focused support, and is protected by the AccuSoft Image Guarantee™, as well as tested against AccuSoft’s exhaustive library of real-world images. As a result, developers can rest assured that users will not encounter problems viewing images from any applications built with ImageGear technology. Building on nearly 20 years of imaging expertise, and utilizing ImageGear’s proven algorithms and higher-level tools, developers can dramatically reduce the time to prototype and deliver working solutions, providing them with a faster time-to-market advantage.
