CXP NAMES STERLING INTEGRATOR™ ONE OF FRANCE’S LEADING BUSINESS INTEGRATION SOLUTIONS

London, July 8, 2004 – Business integration leader Sterling Commerce today announced that its business process integration platform, Sterling Integrator™, has been named one of the top integration solutions available to French businesses in the latest Enterprise Application Integration/Business Process Management study from analyst house CXP[1].

The independent CXP report highlights the benefits of Sterling Integrator, a single, standardised platform built around a BPM-based engine. Designed to quickly, accurately and cost-effectively exchange information in multiple formats, Sterling Integrator provides companies of all sizes with a fully automated business process management solution. Sterling Integrator incorporates a range of modules used to deploy integration services and provides administration and business process monitoring tools that enable businesses to manage more effectively the flow of data and applications throughout their supply chain and across trading communities.

In the report, CXP analyst Muriel Guenon, comments: “The product is particularly well positioned within the B2B integration market. It offers numerous EDI formats and supports AS2 and other communications standards such as RosettaNet and ebXML. It also offers businesses a solution to centralise their trading partner management. Sterling Commerce’s experience in the B2B market also is an undeniable benefit to businesses, who can leverage their years of expertise to quickly integrate the solution and begin to realise the productivity and cost-benefits of complete enterprise application integration.”

The study also emphasises the specific features of Sterling Integrator’s BPM-based architecture, which delivers automated process management: “All integration, transformation and routing rules are defined via the BPM layer. The product also supports human interaction within business processes such as user validations,” added Guenon.

Roy Lee, Vice President Marketing, Sterling Commerce, EMEA, said: “For Sterling Integrator to be named as one of France’s leading business integration solutions is a huge endorsement for our flagship solution. The report’s findings firmly underline what we strive to deliver to our customers in supporting their business process management and integration needs.”

Sterling Integrator is Java-based and can leverage a J2EE architecture, allowing for ease of integration with existing IT systems and straightforward management of applications, enhanced server performance and improved load balancing.

More than 700 companies have chosen to implement Sterling Integrator worldwide, of which more than 80 are in EMEA. Sterling Integrator Version 3.0 was launched in December 2003 and provides additional software support for the handling of very large file volumes and real-time data interchange -- on a single platform.
