Brasfield Technology Expands to Texas

Birmingham, AL (April 7, 2004) Birmingham-based Brasfield Technology, a software developer for the financial services industry, is expanding its reach to the state of Texas. Brasfield has hired Jim Monkerud as vice president of sales for the state.

Monkerud joins Brasfield from Trintech, Inc. where he was regional vice president of sales. Prior to this he worked with The Software Group in Plano, TX and was an account manager for Banctec Financial Systems in Abilene, TX. In this position he sold UNIX and NT solutions for account processing, item processing and check imaging systems to community banks. Monkerud also served as financial account manager and then district sales manager in the Dallas region for NCR Corporation.

For eight years Monkerud served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft commander/emergency action controller. He received his bachelor’s degree in industrial relations and business management from the University of Iowa and his master’s in business administration and management from Abilene Christian University.

In addition to Texas, Brasfield’s current scope includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.
