James T. Leman Named President of SunGard Trading Systems/BRASS

New York, NY – April 5, 2004 – SunGard Trading Systems/BRASS, an operating unit of SunGard (NYSE:SDS), today announced that James T. Leman has been named president. Mr. Leman takes over for Tom King, who has been president since 1999. Mr. King remains a senior executive at SunGard Trading Systems group. Both Mr. Leman and Mr. King report to Ron Lang, group chief executive.

“Over the last 10 years, Tom has helped establish BRASS as a leading provider to the brokerage industry and expand its scope from a Nasdaq order management system to a firm with broad multi-market offerings,” Mr. Lang said. “BRASS has enjoyed tremendous growth during Tom’s leadership. We want to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to Tom for his service and contributions to SunGard.”

With more than 31 years of experience in the industry, Mr. Leman brings an in-depth knowledge of financial and operational aspects of the global securities industry. For the past 12 years, he served as managing director of global equity customer electronic trading and connectivity at Citigroup. Previously, he was manager and vice president of equity trade support for Salomon Brothers. Mr. Leman also worked in supervisory roles at the New York Stock Exchange. He has been a driving force in automating trading and electronic connectivity and is one of the founders of the Financial Information Exchange (FIX) protocol, generally recognized as the first successful cooperative initiative to establish a single technology standard in the securities industry.
