Amsterdam -Reuters (LSE: RTR), the global information company, today
announced that Dutch private and commercial bank Van Lanschot has chosen 160
Reuters information desktops over the competition, including the recently
launched Reuters Trader.

Following a competitive tender, Van Lanschot - the oldest independent bank
in the Netherlands - selected Reuters based on its ability to deliver a
range of information desktops that provide individual financial
professionals the level of information and functionality they need. Van
Lanschot's banking staff will use a combination of the information company's
flagship premium desktop, Reuters 3000 Xtra, the newly launched Reuters
Trader, as well as Reuters BridgeChannel.

Berry Debrauwer, General Manager Institutional Sales, Van Lanschot, said,
"Not surprising in the current trading environment, Van Lanschot is
committed to gaining a competitive advantage for our clients while cutting
costs at the same time. By working with Reuters we are able to give our
staff the tools they need, not more and not less."

Jan-Rene Dolfing, Director, Reuters, The Netherlands, said, "In this current
climate, Banks understandably don't want a one-size fits all approach. As
part of our segmentation strategy, Reuters has been making radical
improvements to its product portfolio, increasing competitiveness of
products like Reuters 3000 Xtra and introducing new light-weight, easy to
use desktops like Reuters Trader - giving banks the choice they demand. We
are pleased we are able to meet Van Lanschot's rigorous needs."

The deal includes: Reuters 3000 Xtra, a real-time, high-performance
information service for financial professionals; Reuters Trader, which
delivers quotes, news, fundamentals, pricing tools, and analytics into a
powerful lightweight, easy to navigate desktop; and Reuters BridgeChannel,
which provides streaming data, news, analytics and charts via an Internet
