ADP Brokerage Processing Appoints New Head of Product Development

New York, NY – August 12, 2002 - ADP Brokerage Services Group, a division of Automatic Data Processing, Inc. (NYSE: ADP), announced today the appointment of Charles Marchesani as senior vice president of product development for its Brokerage Processing Services (BPS) group. As such, he will be responsible for application development and product management for the core back office transaction processing solution.

"Charlie has been a tremendous asset to ADP in his years with the firm. I am confident that he will excel in his new role and continue to bring ADP’s clients technologically advanced solutions to help them grow their business, gather and retain assets and keep their costs under control," said Marianne Brown, senior vice president and general manager of BPS.

Marchesani joined ADP more than 10 years ago and has had positions of increasing responsibility with the company. He started in 1992 as director, help desk for the market data business where he was responsible for managing a 24x7 hour call center and for providing hardware support. In October 2000, Marchesani was promoted to senior vice president of service delivery. In this role, he oversaw the help desk, client services, product support, and account management for ADP’s back office clients. A key success in this role has been BPS’s continued progress in client satisfaction - most recently with its achievement of 92% of its clients rating ADP as very good or excellent.

Commenting on the announcement, Charles Marchesani said, "I am extremely excited about the challenges and opportunities ahead in transitioning to my new role in product development. I look forward to leveraging my client experience and relationships to continue to focus on our initiatives in the areas of web-based product deployment to enhance our current product offerings, API deployment to enhance our business processing requirements, as well our workflow product development efforts in support of industry STP initiatives."
