OM ANNOUNCES CORPORATE FOCUS ON INTEGRATED FRONT-TO-BACK OFFICE SOLUTIONS IN EUROPE - Leverages Transaction Technology Expertise to Provide Solutions Management

London, April 17, 2002 – Announcing its increased focus on providing complete front-to-back office solutions in Europe, OM will host two half-day seminars for securities markets participants on April 25. The seminars, geared to both institutional and retail players, will highlight OM’s philosophy of working in tandem with its clients to develop solutions that cover the entire trading cycle.

"OM is well known globally for its proficiency in exchange technology," said Guy Everett, Head of EMEA Sales for OM, "but our real expertise lies in transaction technology and spans the entire trading cycle. We work consultatively with our clients to develop reliable and integrated business solutions that streamline the trading process and facilitate the move toward straight through processing (STP)."

As more market participants look to achieve STP, they realize that integrating the entire trading process – from trade capture through to settlement – is a highly complex undertaking. At the same time, cost pressures may prevent installing entirely new systems, resulting in the need for expert providers that can evaluate existing infrastructure and design solutions that will increase efficiency and reduce expenses.

"Unlike most technology vendors, OM is a full service provider that also advises clients and helps design process flows," said Peter Horwitz, Assistant General Manager, Front

Office Systems for OM. "Our project methodology consists of a design study, followed by system development and implementation – either in-house or on an outsourced basis -- and ongoing support." OM has more than 200 developers devoted to solutions development, enabling speed to market and easy integration with existing legacy systems.

OM’s focus on solutions management reflects a broader shift in the company away from product-centric marketing and toward promoting its expertise and vast experience in global financial markets. With a client roster of more than 100 financial market participants globally, including 25 exchanges and clearing organizations, OM has solid and long-term experience in running large and complex projects on a global scale. By actually managing exchanges, OM possesses a unique insight into the demands and requirements necessary for smooth and trouble free trading.
